I found these numbers/letters on the pad in front of the right head of my 350 chev: VIIO7HH and these numbers on the pad next to the oil filter 198043968. These numbers were hard to read so they may not be 100% correct.
The casting number is 3932386.
I was hoping someone could give me an idea what this engine was used in.

3932386....302.....69....4-bolt...Z-28 Camaro
3932386....327.....69....2-bolt
3932386....350.....69....4-bolt
VIIO7HH
1965 HH 327 s h/p, m/t 365hp 4bbl Vette
1966 HH 327 air inj. reactor 300hp 4bbl Vette
1969 HH 350 TH400 300hp 4bbl full size
There should be the last 8 charactors of a VIN near where you found the VII07HH stamping, and it should match your cars VIN if it's the original engine.

198043968 is the confidential VIN derivative
1 - Chevrolet car
9 - Model year is 1969
8 is probably a B for Baltimore Assembly
043968 - match the last 6 digits from the car.
IMPORTANT NOTE-This information is based on the number above being 100% correct.

Hwystarjoe, I know for a fact it is not the original engine. I got it from a speed shop years ago for a different car and this is the first time I have looked at the numbers. I'm betting the speed shop got it from a junk yard.
I was just curious as to its history.
Thanks for the info guys...much appreciated
