No X code on that tag ?
Mine is a 09C Car with an X code
1 or 2 Fuel Lines ?
Disk or Drum Brakes in front ?
Exhaust Bracket on drivers side frame behind real wheel ?
just some other things to look for to know if its a True RS/SS
69-Z11Pacer Aug 24th, 04, 02:12 AM Just an FYI - no reinforcement plate on the drivers-side frame rail on a 'vert. The rails were thicker and didn't need it. But like RSmith said, it should have a bracket (or the outline from one) to be an SS car (dual exhaust)... graemlins/thumbsup.gif
elcamino Aug 24th, 04, 03:13 AM No X code on that tag ?
Mine is a 09C Car with an X code This car is 1968 built car, 17,563 car made. Yours may be sept of 1969 with a VIN seq in the 9N68xxxx?
X codes did not start till November 68 time frame
Jonesy Aug 24th, 04, 06:15 AM X codes started showing up on trim tags in December of 1968.
67RS RAG Aug 24th, 04, 06:03 PM I does have power discs. As for the fuel line it has a new single line. When asked he said that's how he bought it and it does look new. How can you tell if it did have two?
Also what part of the code tells you it's an RS. I checked to see the reverse light slots and they look to be factory cut. There is definitely no X code. I do have a pic of it if someone can host it. I didn't check for the exhaust bracket is it welded on what does it look like?
click Aug 25th, 04, 05:32 AM There is no code for just the RS option on the cowl tag or in the VIN on 69's. Without a build sheet or original dealer order form you will need to see all the components in place to confirm the RS such as headlight washers, extra solenoid for the washers on the wiper motor, chrome trim around wheels, proper location of back up lights and the wire hole in the trunk that leads to them. RS badges on front grille, rear deck under the lock and on steering wheel etc.
good luck with it. smile.gif
I can post your pic for you, just email it to me thru the little icon with the ? in it.
This is what the back up light wire hole looks like, (before I refinished my trunk).

69SSConvertible Aug 26th, 04, 02:07 AM Can anyone post a pic of that "extra solenoid" on the wiper motor for the washers? I would like to compare it to mine.
Thanks.
drdave69 Aug 26th, 04, 02:27 AM The picture of the solenoid is in the above photo. It sits on top of the wiper motor with hoses attached to it.
click Aug 26th, 04, 05:06 AM here are a couple of pics. The mounted pic is from Steve McCory, a TC member here and this lone pic is my 'spare'
the wiper body itself has a different part number than a non RS model. Only difference folks have found is the 2 extra holes thru the wiper body for the screws that hold this solenoid on. smile.gif
