I am working on a 68 SS396 Camaro convert that someone removed all the hideaway headlamp hardware. Have everything in and working manually now. I need help on the proper location and orientation of the vacuum reservoir. Can anyone help me. A diagram or an email picture would really help. I think it mounts at the front of the left inner fender, but that has been replaced with a standard, but modified, inner fender.

I can't help too much as I don't have a scanner, but I can tell you it is on the drivers side on my car. Sorry could not help more.

Invest in an assembly manual. They are the one greatest resource for finding out how missing parts were installed.

Yes, it should be located on the driver's side inner fender just behind the radiator support. If you have GM inner fenders, there should be dimples that act as drill guides for the vaccume can mounting bracket. I'm not sure if the repro's have the dimples.
