I bought another T/C cover off eBay last week and wondered how the dating works for covers. The markings are 4 1 9 on the cover. Is this April 1st 1969, January 4th 1969, or is it Julian Dated as the 41st day of 1969?

Any help is appreciated....Thanks guys!

I'm curious too! My 69 timing chain cover has something like 8 69 stamped on it...which is when my engine was assembled.

Normally it's month and year. 12 68 is Dec 68. I have several and they are stamped this way (though one is stamped upside down).
Except for one, which is stamped 09 49 (the 0 is hard to see). No idea on that one or yours.

Some seem to follow the Julian system while others are obviously some other system. I discussed this with Jerry MacNiesh and he said he has seen inconsistencies on some timing covers as well. His book shows the Julian codes.
