I have a distributor off my 68 Z-28 and it has a metal tag around the shaft instead of being stamped. Has 1111075 DELCO REMY 466 on the tag. What did this really belong too?

HawaiianCamaro May 1st, 03, 07:00 PM 1965- passenger car/327 Chevy II/283 & 327 Chevelle/327 Canada Passenger car/327 Canada Chevelle/327 On the same metal tag should also be a date code. Should be a 4 digit code something like 5A28 witht the first digit the calendar year (5=1965) second digit the month (A=January) and the last two digits the day of the month. (28= 28th day) ratchetmaster May 2nd, 03, 05:21 AM The distributor is cast iron? Not aluminum, right?? I think the last year of the cast iron dist. body is 66. For sure the 68 would have the aluminum body shaft with the #s stamped on the body with no tag on it. kimmer May 2nd, 03, 05:48 AM Yes, it's a cast distributor. Was hoping it was the original..oh well. JohnZ May 3rd, 03, 05:46 PM The "466" is the date code, but the middle character should be a letter, not a number - are you sure it isn't a "G" instead of a "6"? At any rate, it's a 1964 distributor. |
