67CruiseMasterCamaro Feb 18th, 05, 03:59 AM August of 1969. Hence the renumber of the body to 1XXXXX. Am I right Kurt?
KevinW Feb 18th, 05, 04:34 AM Nope, August 68. Small tag, no X-code, 4310th body built (firebird and camaro) at Norwood. The 69 model year did start in Aug 68.

Jonesy Feb 18th, 05, 05:22 AM This would not have been the 4310th camaro built. If so, the VIN would be 12X379N504310. Body numbers were assigned by Fisher as the orders were received from the dealer. The earliest tag that I have seen from Norwood is 08D.

The earliest tag that I have seen from Norwood is 08D. I think you are actually both right. It was the 4310th body produced by Fisher. It may or may not have been the 4310th one to be built at Norwood; you would need to know the VIN to verify that.
A question for you CRG guys: Are there any cars in the database that have a VIN that matches the Fisher body number? My '67 is extremely close.
Scott.
DanCamm Feb 18th, 05, 07:28 AM My 09A car is N503205, so it would have to be before #3205.

Dave, you may be right, I am not up on my Firebird info.
Based on old USCC VIN table, August 68 Camaro Vins were from 00001 to 00999, sept 68 was from 01000 to 02310. If the VIN table is to be believed, then Camaro VIN N504310 would be a Oct 68 car.
The build number must not have started at 100001 for the 69 model year I guess.
elcamino Feb 18th, 05, 07:50 AM April of 1969, the Firebird was transferred to Norwood from Lordstown.
VIN 9N500084 = NOR102276

Jonesy Feb 18th, 05, 04:37 PM Camaro VIN N504310 would actually be a 09A car. It is definately not the 4310th car built. Body numbers were used between NOR and LOS plants. 104310 could have been built at NOR and 104311 could have been built at LOS. The number or sequence that a car is, is figured out by the VIN not body number. N500001 is the first car and so on.
Mark C Feb 18th, 05, 05:07 PM That's the 395th Camaro built at Norwood. (I had the vin and image of the tag in my files)
