Did 1970 camaros ever come with a 10 bolt rearend on it? How can i tell if it has positraction?

In 1970 the only Camaro's that came with 12 bolt rear ends would have been either Z28's or SS's. If you Camaro did not start life in either of these configurations it did not come with one.

The only way to really tell if the car has a posi is to pull the cover and look at the carrier. A less reliable way is to jack up the rear end and spin one of the tires, if the opposite wheel turns the same way it is most likely a posi. If the posi is worn out it might not spin the same direction.

Check under the trunk lid. Positraction from the factory will have a sticker there. There are numbers on the passenger side axle tube that will identify the gearing, but they are real hard to see and read.

Definitely pull the cover and check the carrier. I've only once had a posi that was original that wasn't worn out. Always seems to spin the other way. Just not a very reliable way to check.
