View Full Version : real trim tag?? Very odd codes
quikchevy Mar 5th, 02, 05:45 PM Ok, here goes...I have decoded many 67 camaro trim tags but this one has me stumped, is it real or is it a bad repro?? Its on our 67 RS/SS big block convertible we just bought!!!
There are NO misprints below!!
10B I669
67-12467 LOS-318
765-Z Y-2
EDL 2ZG 3SLKD
4N 5BY
We bought the car assuming the cowl tag is fake, we really don;t care since its getting a 350 ram jet and a T-56 6 speed
Let me know what you guys think of it!!
Thanks in advance

1967 Panther Mar 5th, 02, 06:26 PM I looks to be correct...I sure wouldn't put a 350 ram whatever in it...
Jeff, I believe 2Z is TH400 transmission

3DUDE Mar 5th, 02, 06:38 PM If thats the correct trim tag for that car that is a pretty well optioned and rare 67
you would be doing yourself a favor to get it as close to original as can be IMO
quikchevy Mar 5th, 02, 06:49 PM The biggest question here is whats with the 3 digit body number??? and didn't they start making big blocks in november? The build date is in October??? What do you think about all that? It has...power top, 4 piston power disc, tach (5500 redline) speedminder, aux lighting, 12 bolt posi, auto shifter, power steering, ect...its pretty loaded!!
HawaiianCamaro Mar 5th, 02, 07:44 PM From CRG pages:
M M35 yes PWR GLIDE AUTOMATIC
(NOR - only applied when D55 was included)
(LOS - used in lieu of 2Z for the M40 THM400)
Z M40 THM400 3-speed automatic transmission
(NOR only)
so which one would it be since its a LOS car. Guess Kurt might have to change the Norwood only part. Would like to see what the VIN reads.
If the VIN matches the Cowl tag i vote to rebuild it as close to orginal as possible.
Seems pretty loaded did they have any kind of BBC promo cars made at all

Kurt S Mar 5th, 02, 07:59 PM Way too early for BB. Tag is definitely a repro.
I'd stick with your plans. http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif

Jeff H Mar 6th, 02, 03:47 AM Do you have any pictures of this trim tag? What do the rivets look like that mount it to the car? If this is a fake tag, this is the kind of stuff that can damage the hobby. Thankfully, the person who bought the car was pretty confident it was fake and it didn't matter to him.

quikchevy Mar 15th, 02, 04:51 PM Ok, well we decided to keep it an original big block! However we did get a 502 for it! And we decided to go with a 700R4 built correctly for the horsepower and torque... Any other opinions on the cowl tag info?? I really think its a fake...only 3 digits on the sequential body number? Has anyone else ever seen that before?
Thanks again
tallking Mar 20th, 02, 06:54 AM Is this car a smog equipped car? If so,does it still have the calif smog equipment? I need pictures/parts for 67 BB smog setup.
