Can anyone decipher these numbers located on the passenger side front boss behind alternator? The motor is a 350. Thanks

That is a truck motor! Specifically a Canadian (K) made 1975 165hp 350 with a 4 barrel carb out of a C-20 to 3500 truck. 071186428 is the partial vin number to the original vehicle.

071186428 is the VIN derivative but the 0 should be a C.

7 - Model year is 1977
1 - Oshawa Ontario Canada is the final assembly plant
186428 - is the production serial number, being the 86,428 Chevy truck built at Oshawa for 1977, so this would have been built late in the 1977 model year, July 1977.

Thanks guys,I suspected it was. I could not break it down as far as you did. Actually it runs very good with the cam and 041 heads. It is out of the car now and a 400 HP SBC is waiting to go in after I detail the engine compartment. Great site!
