Can some one decode this water pump. Casting # 376444 GM 69 Date code looks like D28.

Sorry- I looked in both "Camaro Restoration Guide" and "Chevrolet by the number" with nothing even close. Number requires 7 digits, but even at that there was nothing close. If the date is D 28 9. I wonder if it could be a 79 or 89 pump. April 28th ?9
