Is the engine code CPD perhaps?? If so its a 454 LS5 engine from a 71 or 72 Monte Carlo or Chevelle. You will need to post the block casting and casting date for anyone to be more specific.

I find CPD as the LS5 454/365 from a 71-72 Chevelle, Monte Carlo or full size Chevy. If it's CPR, that is a 71 454/425 from a Chevelle. That doesn't sound right to me, but check closer, the CPR could make it worth something.

My book - Chevrolet V-8 Engine Code Pocket Guide shows:
CPB=
1976 305/140hp for a Camaro/Nova/ Monte Carlo/Chevelle/El Camino
or
1980 267/120hp for a Malibu/Monte Carlo
Quite a difference one letter makes.

It's a BB; note assembly at Tonawanda engine plant.
