2 questions i went to a car aution to day and saw a copo camaro sell for 35k 1st? did copo camaros have matching numbers 2nd? automatic or stick this car was automatic (bondo bucket)

COPO sold for 35K I take it there was no paperwork for it or it was a clone. Did you get any of the cars info such as VIN/Cowl tag? Did it have a BBC in it or Small block?

An original drivetrain COPO would have a partial VIN stamped on the motor and transmission. A special application "BE" coded rearend was also part of the package. Copo's could be ordered with 4-speed (M21/22) or autos (TH400 w/CX code).

i did not really check it out cause i thought is was junk! they say it was a 427 automatic matching nubers no code on the fire wall early vin i noticed its amazing what these cars go for. id rather has a nice cruzer and enjoy it.

A 69 COPO 427 ZL1 at Barret-Jackson was bidding over 300,000 and sellers reserve was not met. Anyone who can find a legit one for $32,000 just missed the deal of the century.

10 to 1 it s was a clone, there are lot sof them out there, sone are honest about it and some are not.

Well, if the VIN was too early for the X code on the firewall, then it's definitely not a COPO. The first COPO's started arriving in Jan-Feb (not counting the first 2 ZL1's that showed up in the end of Dec). So the car should have an X code if he thinks it's a real COPO.

people were yelling at this auction IS IT REAL and they kept saying yes, car was rough then i heard a couple people saying great deal for copo, EARLY VIN NO X CODE my freind went there with 20k every camaro sold for way over that.i did not see a good one anyway i would not let him buy any of them.i pointed out problems with every one of them for 30k and up rot should not be covered with heavy bondo and floors loaded with undercoating 2 even had rotted firewalls that were covered up.i told my freind to buy a car from ebay HA HA only kidding

What does that tell you about some of these auctions. Sounds like a bunch of plants to make potential bidders think a car is real. When you start getting into cars that are over $15K, you need to do some serious research and never let anybody rush you into making a decision. Walk away if someone is pressing you because he has 10 other guys coming to look at it tomorrow.

69 camaroralleygreen said it was a COPO he did not state it was a ZL-1 COPO (9560). If it was an iron block COPO (real) 35K in rough condition is not a steal.
But I'm with you 10-1 it was fake.

What can I HOPE to have my 69 COPO clone be worth or valued at??????....Turbo 400, Butternut Yellow.....it has CE 427, but will LOOK very correct.....Chuck S

it was unreal what i saw i told my freind i should have brought my car to sell cause what they paid 30k for i could of got 50k for mine. the paint job on the camaro was like the ocean WAVY! i guess its the perfect time perfect place. i found out about the auction at the last minute and had to go watch there were 2 perfect cars out of about a 100 one was a 69 mustang cobra went for 45k the other perfect car was a 71 cuda coupe with just over 2000 original miles went for 110k <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by CamarosRus:
