I just purchased a 1969 Hard Top Indy Pace Car. Did not know they existed until I looked up the Z10 code from Trim Tag. Car is Dover White/Hugger Orange Stripe over cowl hood. 727 Interior code. 350ci/300HP with 4spd, u17 gauge package. Apparently Chevy made 200-300 of these cars at Norwood in 4/69 and 5/69 as a southwest promotional car. Does anyone out there have on or know of anyone that has one. I'd like to meet other owners. The International Camaro Club has about 90 of them in their registry. Thanks

I know a guy in Dallas with one. I will ask if it is ok to give out his email.

Z10s are not "hard top Indy Pace Cars". All Indy Pace Car replicas are convertibles, option Z11.
The Z10 option was described on original documentation as "special accent striping" and listed for $36.90.

What William is trying to say is the Z-10 is a rare car and many dealers had passed them off as pace cars. The factory did not issue them as such though.

Technically (I guess) no, it is not a hardtop Indy pace car, but most of us (I think) consider it just that...the Z10 is a very desirable first gen car....probably in the top 5 first gens for me...this is a car that GM wouldn't even acknowledge existed until a few years ago...exact production numbers are a guess at best...the way I look at it is the only cars to receive "Z" codes on the trim tag were the Z10 and Z11...we all know what a Z11 is and since GM isn't talking, and all Z10 cars are white with orange stripes, I'd personally consider it a "Hardtop Indy Pacecar" even if it isn't written in stone somewhere...just my $.02.....

Thanks, several of the references I have even refer to it as a Pace Care..guess there is some confusion out there about these cars.

Some 20 years ago I published a "1969 Camaro Identifier" and referred to Z10 as "Indy Pace Car accents-hardtop." Since thousands were sold (not by me unfortunately) I am partially at fault for creating the impression. In the early '90s a Z10 window sticker was located and, suprise, no mention of Indy Pace Car.
Next I need to work on the belief that X11 means "Camaro SS"...
