View Full Version : 69 Camaro Window Sticker
crossram Feb 17th, 05, 06:43 PM Is there any break downs of window sticker codes like ;)
5U17GA Special Instrumentation what does each option letter mean I know what U17 is but the "5" and the "GA" means what ?? Why do they change the 5 seems consistant but the last two letters change a lot...
Also top of the window sticker there is two numbers upper right side 286031 and below upper right side is NHE142 11 graemlins/beers.gif
Unreal Feb 18th, 05, 12:25 AM All codes began with the 5. The last two letters were the Exception Control Letters (ECL) Anytime there was any change in the option, Chevrolet changed the ECL.
Jeff H Feb 18th, 05, 06:40 AM The 286031 should be your NOR body number on the trim tag. That is the # assigned when the order was accepted from the dealer request(I think this is how it worked. Check over at CRG to verify).
crossram Feb 18th, 05, 09:41 AM Ok I agree on the 286031 did not find answer on CRG site but I will go with that now how about the other number NHE142 is that the dealer number or where is that on the window sticker .........
Mark C Feb 18th, 05, 01:22 PM That is the alpha numeric confirmation number used to confirm the order back to the dealer. They were preprinted on the top of the order forms that the dealers had. Sort of like the sequential numbers on a pad of paper receipts at a restaurant, or small store (if anyone still uses those anymore). It's not the dealer number
crossram Feb 18th, 05, 07:38 PM Is there a dealer number on the window sticker ?
Jeff H Feb 19th, 05, 07:21 AM Based on the information you gave us that car should be a Glockner Chevrolet car from Ohio. ;)
crossram Feb 20th, 05, 06:17 PM All right , now how do you know that !! From
this NHE142 do you have a dealer break down of this or just from old window stickers reading that number ???
Kurt S Feb 20th, 05, 08:00 PM NHE142 indicates it's maroon too. Not! smile.gif
Kyvox Feb 20th, 05, 08:24 PM You can get some dealer number info. here:

coke69z11 Feb 21st, 05, 02:03 PM It never fails me to amaze me what I've learned on this site, even when I wade thru the BS. Have been trying to recreate a window sticker for my car, didn't have the dealers street address, nor knew the cowl tag # was on the window sticker. As far as the other numbers up in the right corner, I just made them. Thanks for help guys, I had them typed up, in an envelope ready to mail and fortunately today being President's Day, no mail and they will be corrected and mailed tommorrow. graemlins/hurray.gif
coke69z11 Feb 21st, 05, 02:07 PM BTW, where do I find that page you listed above with the dealer zones?
crossram Feb 27th, 05, 07:03 AM Yes I got it all the window sticker done from the dealer code to the order number, to the address and then signed by the owner of the dealership who sold the car , believe it or not he still owned the dealership and still worked there at 81 years old so had him sign the window sticker and had him tell me about the car!
(For what he could remember 36 yrs ago)
Great story, more to chase down as in why is it identical to the NASCAR pace car ???
Doing more research, traced down the owner of the negatives for all the NASCAR cars will have that soon in my hands !!
Jeff H Feb 27th, 05, 11:02 AM The car you're referring to in the top of this thread is in Jerry's Definitive 69 Book on page 112. Is this the window sticker you have with it? Do you have this car now?
crossram Feb 27th, 05, 06:50 PM No no no just used that as a sample those others were just samples I did get the correct info from the dealer and from the cert of orgin
crossram Feb 28th, 05, 04:43 AM NO that was just an example out of the books I do have the correct info now just have to do more history on the NASCAR bit.................
