I have a GM Flywheel that came with a 71 Z28. I don't think this flywheel came with this car because of the date code. I cannot come up with this part number anywhere. Has anyone else got some information on what car this flywheel went to?

It has 3888999N on it with a date code of L46 which believe is Dec 4th, 1966, 1976 or maybe even 1986?

Thanks in advance,

Bob R

Bob; I have four flywheels in the garage from the mid to late 60s and all have 370 to 371 cast numbers. I have one from an 84 with a 379 number. Note that casting numbers aren't part numbers on these, but I'd guess you have a much newer flywheel. Don't know when they stopped using 11 in clutches, but it could be a replacement as GM flywheels aren't all that expensive at the dealer counters. I'd take a wild guess at an 86 cast date.

Thanks Tom,

I appreciate your answer. I thought the flywheel could not be the correct one. Your explanation just helps support that. Once again thanks.
