The casting number on the 350 in my 69 pace car is 3956618. Other than removing the oil pan, any way to tell if it has 2 or 4 bolt mains? Is this a common casting number?

Looks like it could be either Larry.

is there an eng code stamped on the pad? or a vin there or on the oil filter boss? I believe if the eng. is the original 350 (300 hp)SS
it would have to be a 4bolt. but like Joe says, it was used in a couple different applications.

Yes, it is an "HB" block which I already know is a 350/300. I just didn't know if all 350/300 blocks had 4-bolt mains.

Most 300 hp motors were 4 bolts.
But I have one in the garage that isn't.....
