My 69 Camaro has a 350/255 (LM1) engine. The only numbers I have found so far are on the right side front stamp pad and read T09I2HS. All the references I can find state that the "I" should be a numeric symbol, not a alpha symbol?? It is not misread, it is an "I". So i thought i had a Tonawanda built LM1 built on Sept 12 and matched to a Turbo 350. I'm not really sure what I have??

The engine plants often (if not always) used the Letter I to represent the number 1. Not unusual!

There should be another set of digits on the pad for the VIN code but it also could be down on the right side near oil filter. It would be stamped in the vertical rear engine flange. Just about the filter. Its called a cop VIN.
