Since it's an Los car, check the top of the gas tank for the broadcast sheet. If it's has been completely restored then someone most likely removed it. It might be worth dropping the tank to see if there is any sign of old dried glue up there anyway. If there is, then one of the previous owners may have removed it and you should ask them about it. That might be the only way to prove what really came in the car.

I wasn't sure if the LOS built Camaros had the codes on the trim tag, but there's an LA built Z28 on Ebay right now that shows the 28.10 so your car probably should have the Z27 and L78 on the trim tag. The numbers you gave us look a little weird.

No - the thing on ebay is weird.

LA built cars don't have the accessory code obviously stamped on the tag, like norwood cars. I believe the car in question with the 28.19 was built in "norwood california" - according to the seller.

A real 1970 (LA built) trim tag
looks like this (http://www.nastyz28.com/pictures/70laztrim.jpg). This one happens to be off a (real) Z28.

The original posters trim info looks valid, but it doesn't confirm if it's a SS or not. There's other ways to validate the car.

Thanks guys. What do I need to be looking for to validate the car? It has the 12 bolt posi rear end, 1 inch front sway bar and 9/16 rear sway bar, has factory dual exhuast hangers. 3/8 fuel line. Haven't had time to get the codes off the rear end or trans yet. any help would be great !

Thanks for the update Mike. I don't know the 2nd gen well enough to make judgements on cars, but I will still try to help if I can. I'd hate to pass on bad information. That car on Ebay looks kinda fishy since the tag doesn't resemble the one you're showing above.
