I found these numbers on the power steering box of my 69:

Cast

5691676
5686555
G913 5

Stamped
24/8 8

Do they mean anything? I suppose I could guess that 24/8 8 means August 24, 1968.

Also....I have a pitman arm cast 3953219. Is that a short one?

So.....the numbers don't have any meaning?

Paul,
From what I can gather, they don't mean much. Pretty standard numbers. The marking that WILL mean something is one that's been painted on top of the small cover on top of the steering box. The one with the Saginaw 'S' on it. This mark is supposed to designate the ratio or some other specifics about it. Like a dope, when I was cleaning mine up to sandblast it, I rubbed that painted-on marking off. It was pretty unreadable anyway.

248 8 - 248th day of 68.
676 is the casting # for the ps box.

Should be a cast date on the side of it too.
