I recently purchased a 68 SS 396-375 and to my suprise the owners manual and owner protection plan with the original protect-o-plate still in the car. It also has a body broadcast copy copy with it also. Does this document contain any info that I couldnt get on the cal tag or vin?? Also does this paper increase the value of my purchase?.. Thanks, Kevin

Since 68 had little info on the cowl tag, paperwork is of great value. Especially for a L78!! since if someone wants to fake something, it might as well be a rare/desirable engine!

aloha and welcome to the Team Camaro Family. Outstanding find and I wish it was me that found it. Yes the POP and the Broadcast sheet will increase the value since they will identify that it is in fact a L78 car. Can you either post the info so it can be recorded or send me it via E-mail along with a pic of the POP and the Broadcast sheet.

The Trim Tag for 68's will only show the body style/exterior and interior colors and the build date. The POP will show the eingine/tranny/rearend along with the VIN and the Colors and all as will the braodcast sheet. The pop and broadcast sheet will back each other up and as with anything the more paperwork the better.

What shape is the car in. ? FOR SALE at all

thanks for the reply guys! here is the info on the POP. I will try to take a pic of the broadcast copy tomorrow. POP info goes as follows:

P8C06 2 33
This car was put in service 5/31/68 and was sold in Lincolnton, N.C. and was sold to a customer in Stanley. To my knowledge there has been 4 owners. 2 of them i know personally and this car has been a hobby for each of them and not a driver. (one owner had the car for 9 yrs and only put 200 miles on it!) As for the condition of the car, the interior looks just as it did when it left the showroom. Unfortunately the owner before me had the car painted around 1982 with Imron. My plans is to find a GOOD painter to put the car back to it's original OO corvette bronze. I also know that the tranny has been changed during the "paint" era and replaced with a brand new M22 4 speed.(it is still a little stiff to shift). Any suggestions about looking for more numbers to check against the paperwork will help!.. Thanks again Guys! Kevin
