I just purchased a 1967 RS/SS 396 car and have no paper work with it. Was wondering if anybody knows what i can do to find out previous owners and more important find out what dealership it was sold from. The vin is 124377N524634. I need this to do my restoration with it. Thanks to anybody who can help...Don

Thats a good one for the tag team. I think your luck is better if it was built in Canada from what I've read here on the board.

I don't know about Texas, but in Ohio you can trace the car by getting the previous title number and keep tracking back. The county that registered the title can tell you where the previous title came from. I had a 81 Corvette that my wife bought me that was suppose to be a one owner car. I found "signs" that shouldn't have been there at 19,000 miles. I checked it back to when it sold new from a dealer outside Columbus and found that it had a salvage title at one time and sat in a salvage yard for a couple years after being totaled. A good lawyer and a year and they settled. It takes time, but can be done. Good luck.

:D Unreal, I was reading your comment and thinking "huh? wha du yu mean huh?" I guess we tend to get lazy and not read the numbers until its absolutely necessary. graemlins/beers.gif

He typed the same VIN # in both times.

he meant to say most likely

124377N254634 not
124377N524634
