I am looking at purchasing a 1969 Z/28 and the current owner says its an early build. I have only the cowl tag info and it is not "X" coded. Can you use the sequence number to verify? The information is below:
12437N110362 712 51 B 11C
I need a little help here...Thanks!!

Unfortunately, you can't tell it's a Z28, SS, etc. from the VIN. Use the search function and try keywords like "Identify 69 Z28". You will get a lot of posts with info for things to look for on the car. Another source is original paperwork - Build sheet, P-O-P, window sticker, Bill of Sale.
Also get a copy of Jerry MacNeish's The Definitive 1969 Z28 and SS 396 book. These are some places to start.
712 = Deluxe Black Comfortweave Interor
51B = Dusk Blue paint with Black vinyl top
11C = Assembled 3rd week November

I take it that's not the VIN and it's actually ST 12437 NOR 110362 BDY.
If you could confirm that # and send me the VIN for the car, I can estimate the chances of it being a Z.
If you can get any engine, trans, or axle codes, it will help.
