New guy question:
Not sure if I'm looking in the right place or not for the engine serial number/type. Stamped on pad by car's right side water pump is F05I7YS. Cast on rear in big type is GM 3858174.
I thought it was a 327, but I read that the 327 had a oil fill tube up front. This engine has an Edelbrock Torker II manifold on top and no front fill tube.
How do I find out what this block is?
Just curious, maybe it's a 350 cast and we can stroke it. I bought the car for my son and I to work on and learn about cars. We're having a great time!
Pulled the engine/tranny today! Before today, depth of car knowledge has been limited to changing fluids.
Thanks for the great site. graemlins/hurray.gif
