Hello,
I'd like to know if it's possible to de-code my alternator. If it original it would be worth re-building, otherwise I'd just order a replacement.
The numbers on top are as follows:
1100794 37A
8F11 12VNEG

68RS/SS350...The part number is original for a 68 V8 or 6. I'll take a shot at the date code as
8 = 1968
F = June
11th Day
I would rebuild and stick with the original.

I would defintely have the alternator rebuilt if it is the original correct alternator. As a matter of fact I am in the process of having mine rebuilt by Jerry MacNeish. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
