You will have to pull one of the back up lights to see if was punched from the factory or cut with a torch. Also in the trunk you will have the wires come up thru the trunk with the factory grommets.

It sounds to me your front end was replaced at one time. The RS package was also ordered on Z's and SS as well.

No way the hood is original. Not with a 10 bolt and drum brakes. Only available on SS or Z.

What's the #'s off of the engine pad?

Weapon,
My '67 has hideaway headlights but not the reverse lights. This is somewhat strange to me since someone spent alot of money to convert the front to "RS" but not the back. Or maybe it was an RS and had some work done on the back....It also has "SS" emblems on it. Maybe it was a ??? Who knows. A lot of these cars have been peiced together over the years. Be thankful that you own a Camaro and enjoy it.

My buddy's dad bought a 67RS brand new. He wrecked it in the 70's and took the cheap way out putting a standard front end on the car. That's probably what happened to your 69. Good luck with your car ~ John

CHECK THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH FOR VACUUM LINES AND ALSO FOR THE HOLE ON THE FIREWALL. ALSO 68 & 69 CARS HAD A EXTRA VACUUM PORT ON THE INATKE MNIFOLD FITTING FOR THE POWER BRAKES.

Also check your inner fenders to see if there is any existing holes for the bell cranks. Also check location of washer bottle. RS's had them on the right side behind the battery.

And yes you could get the hood on a plan jann all you had to do was order it. There is a untuched car here 350 air has had the hood on it sents new the air cleaner is real odball not like the Z's or SS cars smaller but I do know that the car has always been that way. And this is not the only one that I have seen.

Tim,
If you are referring to a cowl hood on a non-SS/Z/COPO car, I don't believe that car came with the hood. The parts weren't availabe to convert a 307, 327, or low-po 350 to a cowl setup and factory documentation shows this.
I've seen many cars with the hood, believed to be original. Well, original to 1970 or so. Many of those cars were made before the hood was available. Others don't have the correct wiring. None have documentation.
This isn't just my opinion, it's the consensus of the 1st gen people. Until documentation proving otherwise appears.

I really want to know so I can restore it acuratly

Well if a dealer did it they did a good job I have worked on this car a few time and every thing is there. She got the car new she is about 75 now and seal driving the car if I can get the vin off it I will but she is geting a little nutty now so I do not know. The last time I worked on the car I asked her a lot about the car and she said that it was order by her son and that it had never been back to the dealer. Every thing about the hood looks wright the car has never been panted and the hood maches and I have seen dealer instaled hoods and this thing dose not look that way. I may be wrong but I do not think so. I mean ever thing is there and it all works it is a late car I do know that. I will see if I can get dates and vin.
