I pulled my trans yesterday and after three coats of degreaser, I finally found the numbers. They match - yipee!!!

The side cover had a tag on it that reminded me of a differential posi tag, the numbers on it are: 3870357 - what do these numbers represent?

The vin number is on the main case in two places, and on the center and tail shaft cases- L116418. The Muncie numbers are: P7R20. Mark or Kurt, please add these to the database.

The tag with 3870357 embossed on it is the transmission ASSEMBLY part number. There were several finished assembly part numbers to accommodate the three different gearsets (M20/21/22) and two different diameter speedo DRIVE gears pressed on the output shaft, depending on which axle ratio they went with. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
