Looking for some advice on the convertible pump. I am restoring a 67 ragtop and when I put power to the pump, no action. I removed the pump, and opened it. The armature seemed to be seized. Actually, a little WD-40, and the armature was freed and it looks like everything should work fine. Any advice on new brushes? Proper cleaner for magnets and armature? Proper reassembly instructions?

Anything will help....beats a new pump if I can get this one working again. I have lots I can spend my money on.

Also, what is the recommended fluid for refilling the pump and lines?

Thanks.....

I just went thru the same thing with mine, and I bought a new pump. Didnt want the hassles of getting the old pump going and not working once the interior was in. I got it from that place in Fla. called 'Convertible Specialties'. Nice pump. What to put in it, they recommend power steering fluid. I think the assembly manual says that you can use tranny fluid, take your pick. Also, they said that they dont rebuild them.
