i was wondering what the VIN would be for a RS and an SS camaro. and if a 327 engine was an option on a RS or SS. (i'm looking at a prospective purchase, and need to know before buying)
Thanks

The 327 was an option on the RS but not the SS. Super sports were only available with a 350 or 396 unless it was a dealer super car with a 427 or 454 like the Baldwin Motion Camaros

Totally off-topic, but I was born in Raton; moved when I was almost 5 but I still remember things from then. My dad was the high school music teacher then (late 50s).

Oh - I might as well add, if you're into your local music scene, that George Tomsco and Stan Lark of the Fireballs were in my dad's music classes, and Jerry MacNeish of the CRG is essentially the official historian of the Fireballs.

RS and SS do not affect the VIN. The 327 was the base engine for only the first 4 months of 69 production til the 307 was used.

You'll need to post the #'s to get real help.

I don't know the VIN but I was wondering what the VIN would be on a 1969 Camaro RS.
(Ex. a 1967 chevelle ss would be - 13817...)

124379 or 124679..........but this wouldn't necessarily be an SS....
