I'm new to the Team Camaro site. I wish I spent this much time on the TC site reading before I purchased my car. Any way to the question, Can any tell me what engine originally was in the car?

VIN: 124377L136189
COWL: 01D P183
67-12437 LOS 19099
760-Z N-N
W 2MG 3K
Engine Stamp: 14010207

From what I can gather, it appears that the 350 in my car was manufactured between 1980-1985. I couldn't deterime if it was a 2 or 4 blot main. I guess I'll find out when I pull the engine in the next few weeks.

The fender emblems are for a 350 but the car was repainted some metalic brown. I was reading some post that stated that the engine mounts for the 327 and 350s were differnet. My headers are very close to the power steering box. That got me wondering if the car originally may of had a 327.

If you need any pictures, let me know. I can add them to my link in my sig.

Since you body code and VIN show a V8 it looks like it had a base 327/210 hp since you do have any Group 4 codes.

14010207 is the casting number from the back of the block - that was a 1980-1985 350, used in passenger cars and trucks. What's stamped on the machined pad in front of the passenger side cylinder head? graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Ron,
Your half right. The car could of had a 327/210H (LF7) or a 327/275H (L30).

OK, I guess there is no way it originally had a 350. I'm still trying to learn how to dechiper the codes to determine all the options. I think I'll need to purchase one of those magic decoder rings smile.gif
How can I determine if it was a 327/210H (LF7) or a 327/275H (L30)? Where else can I look?

It just so happens that Daniel (67ss350camaro) has a magic decoder ring that you can download. Get it here:

No way to tell which of the two 327's it could have had, unless you have more documentation for the car :(
John is right, no need to buy a "decoder ring", just down load it free from CRG's site smile.gif
