View Full Version : Anyway to check out 68 RS hide-aways

When I bought my 68 RS it came with new hide-away headlamp canisters and a hose kit in the trunk. I'm missing the brackets for the passenger side and the relay valve is broken. The mechanical parts seem to work OK (I can pivot the doors open and closed smoothly). Is there any way I can test out whether all this will work OK before I drop the $ for a the remaining parts? Maybe test the vacuum someway? I'm concerned about whether I'll need a new headlight switch or vacuum reservoir or if I'll have enough vacuum from this little 6 cyl.
Also the last time I tried I couldn't locate a relay valve in stock.
Thanks for any input.

Please search for previous posts on subject. I explained ways to test and connect the hoses in detail a couple of months ago. The relay switch is on indefinate back order from what I've heard.

I've got an extra relay that works if you are interested (this is the valve that mounts on the vacuum tank). It is a repop..but I hooked it up and it does work.
