Hi HwyStarJoe Thanks for the info. I don't know what it came out of but I found the vin#. It reads T64501396 KO9 26 TYU. Does that tell you anything? It is a 4 bolt because I pulled the pan.
I read that those heads are for non leaded gas and are prone to cracking around the exhaust seats. Is this true?
I also read that "some of the smallblock motors used blocks with an additional 1% tin and an additional 2% nickel......These are very desirable blocks can be identified by looking at the block face under the timing chain cover for "010 and 020". these designators can also sometimes be found on the rear face of the block inside the perimeter of the bellhousing mating surface"
I found a 010 on the rear face of my block. What's your take on this?

It's a '76 350/165hp truck engine made at McKinnon Industries (Canada), out of a truck made at Scarborough, Ontario. The "010" by itself means the block was cast with 0.1% more nickel than the standard block, which was supposed to create a harder finished bore surface.
