I have another 69 camaro that is suposed to be a Z28. The biggest problem is it doesnt have an X code.I have the vin, trim tag, rearend, numbers so here goes. Vin 124379n517033 Trim 69 12437 NOR 115797
727 71 71

I would like to add that it has console with gauges, factory tach with 6-7 redline, fold down rear seat, and fourspeed.I can get the # off of it if it would help.I almost forgot it has the exhaust plate on the drivers side framerail.

Thank you all for the help.

Sounds possible, Yours is an early car, X codes started around the end of the year. Check the engine code and VIN, located on the engine deck extension on the front of the pass side. Later cars had the code there, but the VIN on a pad back by the oil filter. 6/7 tach was used only on Z/28 and L-78. Other positive signs are 12 bolt posi, dual exhausts. Check to confirm original single fuel line (no vapor return) look at sending unit, and fuel line clips. Does tranny VIN match the car? is it M21 or M22? Tranny build stamp should end in B for M21, and C for M22. All performance cars got M21. M22 could be ordered on L78 and Z/28. M20 or Borg Warner was used on all other. applications.

my tranny #'s are as follows
side 3851325 other side 3952648
tail GM3846429 top 004429
front GM83857326 US PAT 3088336

I dont have the motor for the car but I can tell you the heater core is made for a small block.I looked at the fuel line and it is a big single one. It looks to be original.

I was trying to find out what I had because I have found a 302 if it is a Z28.

Those are casting numbers. Look for the stamped number on the tranny.
