I would like to know if I am correct on the build date on my car. The VIN ends with 107614 and the trim tag has 09B as the build date. Would this be the second week in September 1966? Doing the math, this car could be within the first 1000 convertibles made? Do this increase its value any, or just make for an interesting fact?

Your date decoding is correct.
I don't think the value increases with it being in the first 1000. If you could document that it was the first convertible made, the value might go up a little.

Not sure about value, but I take it this car is a NOR built car? CRG would be interested in getting the data from the car.

Yes, it is a Norwood car. I couldn't get into the CRG website, so I e-mailed you the info, Daniel.
I really didn't expect the car to be worth any more, but with an early production number, it might have an interesting history. Since the public introduction wasn't until the end of the month in Sept '66, maybe is was a GM exec car? A red convertible is a good way to introduce a new model!
