I just found a small dealership in Mich, That has a 69 yenko, He is asking $19,900 ..What exactly do I look for to verify it's authenticicty? This car is very nice looking,But has slicks and a B&M shifter and a monster tach. The salesman said as far as he knew it's an original.
It has a 427 with a Holley carb, automatic trans and a posi rear. I want to find out if it's real or not. I have a feeling it's not, But I figure it won't hurt to check.
It's a nice looking car even if it is a clone.
Any tips on what to look for would be greatly appreciated. And what would the trim tag show to help me out?

Thanks,
Paul

Post all the trim tag info and I will help you out. The price is very wrong for a real car though. The old salesman thinks it is routine is a bit long in the tooth too...BKH

Well I went and looked closer at the car and found out it didn't even have a trim tag. First of all the salesman tells me that they removed the tag when yenko made the conversion he thought. He ended every sentence with the words 'I think, I thought or I'm pretty sure.I told him I knew for a fact they didn't. He just tells me, hmmm you learn something new everyday. I guess the car was worth the money anyway ( it is in great shape ) and has a strong running 427.
It turns out they are selling it on consignment so I would have to talk to the original owner to ask any specefic questions.

Oh well, would have been a heck of a deal if it was real.....
