I just bought a 67 SS Conv. I am looking for information to decode the engine so I can rebuilt it. The engine number is V=Flint, 06=June,14=Day TBC which can be a 350 from 165 hp to 265 from 1970 or 1979. The vehicle is automatic now based on the cowl infor it was a standard when produced. Where else can I look on the engine block for more infor on engine.

The only other information available that will be of use to you is the block casting number and date along with the alloy makeup of the block itself.
You will have to pull the oil pan to see if it's a 2 or 4-bolt and what type of crank etc. it has installed. I have not run into a truck block in that series and years that is not a 4-bolt cast crank unit originally yet.
Oh - one other little thing, if you see an "009" mark stamped in the oil pan rail on the block it could be a factory turned crank block. Chevy didn't throw out perfectly good cranks just because they didn't machine out right on the money the first time - they turned them .009 under and installed them anyway. If it's the original crank this is something you may want to be aware of.
Post back if you have more questions.
