Check out the tech 2002 posting. Someone is asking about a 283 camaro. Owner states it was orginal and about 600 were made. Might just be an orginal owner. Hes 71
Asked him to come to this forum and post all the info

I posted about the 71 year old with the 68 conv. on tech 2002. He is not the original owner. He says they made around 600 68's with 283 engines. I will try and get some tag info to post later. He is sure about this but I havent found anybody else who agrees. I thought it would be something to throw out there to see if it was possible. Thanks.

Here's a link to a '67 camaro 283ci v8
it is an export model (swiss car, but now in the Netherlands), and photos are taken of the tags etc.

Dl thats one very nice 67 in the pics. are the front and rear lower valance lights mandated by laws in Europe, Noticable sinces its not an RS. Also got to like that 200 KPH speedo. Would make anyone take a double take if they saw it on the US mainland.

Yes, I think so, the front and rear lower valance lights must be there. I think that is a pitty, because a '67 camaro can (according to the law) never be original, cause we need those lights. According to the law all cars (thus also '67 camaros) must also have sidemarklights....!! http://www.camaros.net/forum/confused.gif http://www.camaros.net/forum/eek.gif But maybe this guy changed it.
Are those front and rear lower valance lights the same as the ones from a RS??

The front lower lights look like a RS Lower valance. The rear ones look to be to far out to the sides. If they were RS's they would be more centerd with the tail lights themselves. I dont see any side marker lights, so I guess someone would have to add them to make it legel. If it was built in Europe to mandated laws and came with those lights it would be considered orginal in that case. If it was built and then transformed when brought into another country to meet its laws it would not be considered orginal. Base line would be was it sold new with the lower lights in place.

Still all in all a nice looking well perserved car, esp for being in Europe.
