I have a 69 SS Camaro. I have done some investigation into it and have determained (with the help of many others) it is a true SS. I am really getting interested in the 69 camaros (even more then when I bought it) and am looking for more inforation. Information like production numbers, etc. Where are some good sites for this info. I would like to find others who have SS build around the same time as mine to chat with. These first generation Camaros are really addictive. Thanks

Suggest you pick up "The 1969 Camaro Reference Book" by John Hooper and "The Definitive 1969 Camaro Z/28-SS396 Fact Book" by Jerry MacNeish. Both have some great facts about 69's with more emphasis on the rare high performance cars. There are a few others, but IMO these are 2 of the best books.

I agree. The two books referenced above are great. Another book is "Chevrolet By The Numbers" by Alan Colvin.
When was your car built and at which plant?

here's a few sites i have used to decode a few trim tags, they have other info too if you want to do some surfing instead of page turning: http://holisticpage.com/camaro/parts_fs.htm
pick year, vin, trim tag. this site has a lot more info too. http://www.wsouth.com/camaro/trimtags.shtml
think it's a copy of the above site. http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/3652/camaro.html
pick year, go to cowl tag. also features many pics and ads. http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml
a lot of info on everything.
