I'm looking at a 69 Camaro SS, but I'm not sure if the car is an original SS and worth the money. The numbers that I have are:

Vin 124379N604666

ST69
TRIM 711 65-65PNT
02D Z11

The car is currently red, but the original color was Olympic Gold. I also know it was built in the 4th week of Feb. The car has a 454 with a 4 speed. Its been advertised for $18,000 in Hemmings. There are pictures of the car at http://www.manchestermotorcar.com/chevy/chevy.html

I haven't seen it yet, but it looks like a nice car from the pictures. Is this car worth it? Thanks

Is that "Z-11" really a X-11?

If the Z11 is supposed to be X11 then it could be an original SS350. X11 code can indicate a base model 350 also so you would have to look for the dual exhaust hangar plate on the rear frame rail. Does the car have any documentation like a p.o.p. or build sheet? Is the rear end a date correct 12 bolt with multileaf springs?

Sorry for the typo. The Z11 should be an X11. I'll going to try and look at the car this weekend. I'll post any new info I can. If it is a real ss350 is the car worth $18,000? Thanks

Well out here it is - I'm not sure back there where they seem to slowly disappear in your driveway while you sleep what there worth.
It's an "SS 454"? Keep on your toes! Check the car over real well to be sure it's solid and a good driver (if that;s what your looking for) and doesn't have a bunch of "someone added something here sometime" holes, etc...

It's not an SS.
454, non-original Muncie and non-original 12 bolt.
Originally either a 307 or 350/250 hp. No documentation. Has ps and rear defroster.

My recollection is it's not a bad car, but I don't remember the body condition very well. I did like that it didn't have a console. http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif

Thanks for clearing that up. Since it is not an SS, I think $18000 is a little too much for that car. Thanks

Condition is everything. If you want a driver without a pedigree.....
All depends on what you want.
