I have what appears to be newer mono springs w/ a 10 bolt. What can I do to lift the rear a little? (the rear is lower) I plan on returning a 12 bolt w/multi to this x55 car so I don't want to spend a lot. What should I do? air shocks?,some kind of lift bar? Just looking for suggestions, it just don't look right with the rear that low.

Not the best way to go.... but... air shocks. You could go with shackles too but I hate those worse.

Just get a cheap set of coil-overs and adjust them however high you want her to be..

I ran them for years way back when and I like them. I will say that it took me several times setting them individually to get my car to launch like I wanted it..

I set set them, then go out a burn a little, come back and reset one side and go again sorta deal... Half an afternoon..

After seeing a few other threads I have another ? can I just swap springs? I know I would need to change the shocks, but what else?

joe, lower the front too.get the hotchkis lowering coils for the front and 3 pack leafs for the rear, you can still use them for the 12 bolt later. But it seems to me that you just wanted a quick fix? Given you're original question.Like the other guys said air shocks or cheap coilovers.OR look in the j.c whitney catalog.....There are a lot of variables at stake. What do you really want to do with the car? make it handle g-machine style-or stock looking or make it into a street monster quarter mile machine. You said in your post that you plan on returning a 12 bolt so maybe a resto rod.Anyhow for not much money-shocks for a little more springs for little more rebuilt suspension for a little more and so on and so on......... smile.gif

Thanks for the input guys. I have a few other things to get to before I get the 12 bolt,I just want the stance to look better in the mean time.

befire I got new springs, I put some $20 overload coils on my shocks to pick it up an inch... NOT Recommended. Rode horrible, and they bent one of my KYB's!!!
