I am considering doing the 12" brake conversion using the 1.25" discs on a drum brake spindle and the J55 Van calipers. The problem is I need to know if it will fit inside a 15X8 Minilite wheel. Anybody know the center to the farthest outside part of the caliper? If so let me know. Thanks GL

If you are using a JL8 type rotor with calipers similar to the late 70's half ton pickups, I think it will work. The C5 rotors are larger.

Thanks David: I was thinking of using a C3 Corvette rotor on the drum hub like some of the CBB conversions. If I remember the width of the rotor is 1.25" and the HD J55 caliper should have the correct opening for that width rotor, or maybe not. Before I buy wheels it would be good to know they would fit over the brakes! GL
