When adding the portioning valve in the line below the drivers door to a brake system that has been drum brakes do you leave the all purpose valve located below the Master cylinder in the system?

The 'residual pressure valve' can be removed upon installation. I have always disliked that little pesky valve to begin with. But remember to bleed as per instructions and you shouldnt have any problems.
Another way to change brake bais....flip the shoes around. It works, that is one of the other tricks I used to get my four piston front/rear drum set-up to brake so well.
Food for thought.

The valve under the master cyl can stay the same.
Big Blocks came with the rear prop valve mounted to the frame. Are you converting yours to BB from a smallblock?
Take a good look at the adjustable prop valves, they are cheap and you can set the brake bias easily and change it at any time.
But I wouldn't mount the adjustable valve low on the frame. I'd put it below the brake warning valve under the master cyl.

David I already have done that (changed from a small block to a big block) & have run into insufficient brakes to slow it down with. I;m not sure if my car had drum or disc from the factory because the previous owner stated that he had the 4 piston calipers & hardware if I wanted to buy them the car has single pistion calipers on it now (new rebuilt), but it has no properting valve there(under the door) just a brass fitting (coupler) I have located one & buying it & needed to know if I needed to change the all purpose valve out too
