May be a stupid question, but is it ok to sandblast a rear end? I know guys who have done it but then I've had mechanics tell me they wouldn't do it because of the concern of not being able to get all the media out. Opinions/experiences?

Tape with heavy "Duct Tape and cardboard plugs" all the openings and then after the sand blasting, clean it at the car wash. IMHO. pdq67

I've sandblasted a couple of them and just keep the cover on the rear and plug or tape the axle and pinion ends to keep sand out of the insinde.
Paint it soon after.

i've got a good friend in town that rebuilds gto's, he does it all the time with good results, and no problems. scott
