I want to move the leaf springs inboard on my 1967 Camaro. I have seen offset shackles for the rear, but how do you or even do you need to move the front?

I have never seen a camaro that has had this done, but I believe the front of the spring stays as is and the rear is the only part that moves inward.

The neetest thing I ever read about was a second gen. car that the guy added about 1.5" to each side, top and bottom of the fenders and doors. This spread the body so he could run some really big tires front and rear. And in the mag. article, you had to look three times at the pic's just to even begin to realise what he had done, it looked so stock!

But, boy, the car had that certain "hunkered down" look!!! pdq67

The front leaf spring anchor point stays at the stock location. Purchase the Competition Engineering or Detroit Speed offset kit. Plasma cut the spring perch
off the differntial and reweld it on the new location. Make sure your pinion angle is still the same. You have to Notch the
gas tank!

I got it on my car. You'll have to narrow the fuel tank or run a fuel cell, replace the spring pads and leave the front mounts alone.

I have moved the front spring hangers inboard, I would not advise this unless you really need too. I had the benefit of doing all this work with some very accomplished fabricators looking over my shoulder. To do this, I cut into the stock framerail by "notching" a box in the rail and fabcricating an entire new steel front mount. The spring perches did have to be moved a substantial amount but this was not a big factor as I also installed a Dana 60 which had been narrowed 2.5" per side anyway. I used the CE rear spring eye relocators but built them into a .25" stainless plate which reinforces the entire trunk mounting area. I suspect that before the year ends I will have to put a 2" by 2" channel across the back frame rail and solid mount the rear spring eyes. The CE piece does relocate the rear spring 4" or so but I am not very impressed with its construction. I did this to get rid of the original 12bolt rear and multspring pack which would never have survived the new motor. I have some pics of it during the construction phase if your interested.
