I wondering is it OK to use the Global West Upper control arms with the QA1 Coilovers and have them attach to the stock lower control arms. I could put the del-a-lum bushings in the lowers if it is realy that benifical.

I have read many posts about GW's lowers and there seems to be no real benefit except for looks and re-enforced section where shock and sway bar attach but could you not weld on a re-enforced section on the bottom and have the same effect.

Any comments would be helpfull!

Thanks!

Check out www.globalwest.net (http://www.globalwest.net) and check out the first gen section. They sell the QA1 coil-overs with their upper CA and lower CA as a package. So I think it is save to say they will work fine with each other.

Maybe I was not being clear. I did check out Global West but what I'm wondering is will the stock lower control arm work with the QA-1 coil overs or do I need to weld a brace or not.

Thank you though for your response.

I believe so, the QA1 coilovers use the shock mounting points. If you do a search through the archives, there was some discussions regarding the mounting points and strengh concerns.

I have researched this a bit, and I believe the QA1's still use the upper spring rest in the subframe so all the weight is not on the shock mount tab. Some of the other coil-over kits have another ring on the shock body so all the weight is transmitted to the upper shock mounting point.

Mountie QA1 supplies a round plate with two vertical tabs that is welded to the lower control arm. The shock mounts to the two vertical tabs.

Thanks for the response that was what I heard but I wanted to make sure and every time I called QA1 when I got off work it was too late in the day and the techs were gone!

Again thanks!
