View Full Version : Moroso or Jeg's body mounts
dragon0123 Feb 14th, 05, 11:28 AM Has anybody used the solid moroso or jeg's body mounts? im looking for an alternative to the CEs which I hear are 1/2" shorter than stock rubbers ( i may be wrong about this ) and the GW's which are too pricy. Are the jegs/morosos the stock height? I am having clearance problems with my 38 year old smashed/squished/crushed rubber mounts and need to get the ride height back.
On another note what are the dimensions of correct body bushing susposed to be?
Thanks, to all of you that make this forum what it is.. I always check here first before performing work on my beast.. it has assuradly saved me countless hours and many bloody knuckles. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

TOMS69 Feb 14th, 05, 01:57 PM I used the Competition Engineering mounts (p/n 3027)and they appeared to be about half an inch taller than the stock smashed-down orginal rubber mounts.I think you would be happy with them.I got mine from Summit for about 43.00 minus shipping.Wait...shipping was free but they charge a "handling charge".Took one day with standard ground shipping.
cody Feb 14th, 05, 03:18 PM spend the extra money and get either the global west body mounts or the speedtech body mounts, 100 times better than both of the listed

MarkM Feb 15th, 05, 08:35 AM For those that have used the Moroso or Jegs. I noticed when I removed my old body bushings, the middle mount had a 1/4" steel spacer on top of it. Do these bushings have that extra 1/4" added to the middle mount, or does this spacer need to be re-used?
What about the GW or ST's?

I like their install guide and the fact it's the only solid kit I've seen that includes the HW. DSE wanted another $60 just for their install HW.
ck 2 Feb 15th, 05, 02:00 PM I also am ready to buy solid body mount bushings. The DSE bushings are pretty close to Global West bushings in price and they seem to be made the same. Am I correct with my assumption?
I am leaning towards DSE because they are in NC and I should have them about two days after ordering them. I have read a few bad things on here about GW and that scares me a little.
Are the DSE bushings the same size as the stock rubber ones(in height)?
MickyT Feb 15th, 05, 03:51 PM I used Speedtech. Very good quality mounts and hardware. Highly recommended

What about the GW or ST's? Anyone remember if their middle mount had the spacer? Granted I'm working on a '70 Nova, but I'm assuming they're the same.
ck 2 Feb 16th, 05, 04:08 PM Will the DSE and speedtech bushings put my car back to it's original ride height?

the mechanic Feb 18th, 05, 06:08 AM how hard are the solid bushings on the ride? and do they translate everything into the body?
dragon0123 Feb 18th, 05, 07:29 AM Im also wondering if it is a good idea to take CEs advise and NOT put the solid mounts on the front at the radiator because of vibration.?
(actully I think in their instructions they say to contine to use 1/2 of the old bushing and one solid mount.)
