im looking to buy a new trans for my 92 camaro with a 350 in it and was wondering whats the difference in the 2 trans thanks

I think the 400 is basically a heavier-duty transmission. The 350 is geared a little lower (2.52/1.52/1.00 for the TH350 versus 2.48/1.48/1.00 for the TH400). But also remember that the 400 will steal a little more horsepower than the 350. The 350 draws about 35HP, I can't remember what the 400 takes - somewhere around 40

Hey Bad,
Since your car already has TH350, and unless you are going for mega H.P. stay W/ the 350. The 400 trans has a different out put yolk,detent is electric, it's bigger,and as has already been said takes more H.P.(fuel milage loss). You will also have to find a 400 core,and you have the 350 core get it rebuilt.
