Anyone ever have to deal with a rear leaf front perch bolt that wont come out? The clip or nut or whatever that was attached in the "box" is now free and perfectly happy to spin around. Before I take my trusty Metabo grinder to the head I am curious if someone else has been down this road.

thanks

I think it's common enough for all the Camaro part's shops to carry the bolts and cage nuts... Check with Ground Up (link at the bottom of page) the kit (6 ea) sells for $16.95 in last years catalog.

Yep, been there & done that. Do a search on this and the Body Shop forums here and you'll find a bunch of ways to fix them.
I ended up cutting 1" by 1" holes above each through the floor.
Good luck

Just grind the head off the bolt. You can access the "remains" easily after the perch is off. The nuts just clip though slots in the frame.

I used a Dremel tool with LOTS of their little cut-off wheels. The tool is small enough that you can control it in the confined space.Just make sure you get LOTS of those little wheels-the stone ones, not the fibre kind.
Cut the heads off the bolts and you can remove what's left of the cage after the spring is out.

I have done a few..Just grind off the bolt head...then remove the remaining stud and caged nut..You can buy a complete set of bolts and caged nuts for cheap at NPD...Either way you should replace the fastening hardware...Good luck

Yes, I used a cheap 4.5" angle grinder and as stated, a gunning/sandblasters or grinders full face shield as well as safety glasses and had to wipe the sweat constantly b/c it was in the Missouri summertime!! pdq67
