Lower ball joint seems like it is not realy tight. But weight of the car pushing the lower lower "A" arm downwards so I did not think there wil be a problem.

What is your toughts about this. Is my theory right?

When your car bounce on the road, it may make some strange sounds like mine did and depending on the speed it might be dangerous. I spot weld the bottom side of the ball joint to the lower arm 'till I found a good one. TEMPORARY fix.

It is new ball joint. So maybe I have to somehow make the "A" arm hole for balljoint little smaller.

Did you have it pressed in at a machine shop? I just had mine put in and they are a tight fit. Could be that the opening for the ball joint in the A arm is worn. The spot weld sounds like a good temporary fix to me.

I would be extremely concerned about any part of the front end being loose like that. You don't want to lose steering control!

An accident waiting to happen.

In the last couple of weeks I've seen a mid-'80s Cutlass and S-10 on the side of the road with broken lower ball joints. They can and do separate.

Fix it right or park it. A PI lawyer would have a career day in court with a broken ball joint that you had welded.

Well ismail, if the hole seems bigger than the ball joint and you don't wanna weld, you have to find a replacement A arm or maybe follow davidpozzi's recomendation. davidpozzi

If you can't find a replacement, get a ring machined to fit the ball joint, and weld the ring into the A frame.

Ismail. Did you check the spindle? I had a wallowed out lowerer spindle hole and it caused play in balljoint and eventually broke. Luckily i was only going 5 MPH over railroad tracks when it happened.(And no train coming!) If it isnt perfectly round it will cause the ball joint to break.

You know why it's happened because we put the balljoint upside down the first place and I had to remove them and put back together. I think that made the hole larger. I did not take them of because whole front of the car was disasambled when I bought it.

I will probabbly buy new ones or make the hole somehow smaller. Maybe I can use air chiesel or something around ring to give some inward movement make it tight and test them to use it.
