I am about done with the Hotchkis 3 leaf springs conversion and I have hit a snag. I have a little play (space) in the multileaf perches even after I tighten the shock mount all the way? Should there be a little play in it or should it be snug? I really don't want to have to add spacers to this. :( Also I had to take out the metal inserts in the pads in order for the pads to sit flush? I don't think the rearend will go any where but I dont want it shifting either?

Kevin - Hotchkis makes a plate they will send you for free to fill the space you are talking about. It comes with a longer pin (bolt) so you can bolt it to the bottom of your leaf springs. there directions mention it might be needed... You want the springs clamped firmly between the perches and the shock plate. I didn't use the upper pad and had them send me extra plates. I did this to gain about 1/8" - 3/16" additional height in the back. Normally you would install the upper pad, the springs with the plate at the bottom, the lower pad and then the spring plate. I installed the springs with 2 plates at the bottom, the lower pad and then the shock plate.
Oh, the directions also say it's ok to not use the bushing...
