I have a 68 camaro and i went to put the sway bar on and i cant get to go on. Do you have to have one lower control arm lose or off to put it back on because i had taken the front end off and put new bushings and put the controls back on and now the sway bar will not go on.
thanks

I managed to get in my Hotchkis 1 & 1/8'' bar by just removing the passenger's side wheel and turning the wheels full lock to the passenger's side. From the problems I have heard from some though, it seems that I was lucky.

I jacked the front of the car up,took off the wheels, put on my work boots and kicked the krap out of my Global West bar to make it fit. With a little anger you can move mountians....LOL

Getting the sway bar in is one of lifes little problems - just when it seems impossible and you are tearing your hair out and wondering why you are putting yourself through all this it suddenly falls into place and you can't see what the problem was.
Believe me, it only needs the left wheel off and a bit of jiggling and in it goes - only it's not quite that easy

I had problems getting my Hotchkis 1 1/8" bar in. Turns out I had to pop the spindle off the driver's side to get it in. I could not feed it in from the driver's side due to insufficient clearance in my garage on that side. I also could not move the car since the brakes were in the middle of a re-do! I wound up wrecking the nice black powdercoat on the bar too http://www.camaros.net/forum/mad.gif .
You should try the driver's side feed as suggested. Also you may need to turn and angle the bar to get it in properly. It is a bit@h to get in but keep trying, you'll get it!
